Sarah Palin is one of maybe two people I've ever heard speak that make me want to slap her as soon she opens her mouth. I can't tell if she's really stupid and still thinks it's politically saavy to talk to her audience like they're idiots, or if she actually is smarter than she sounds and is just condescending as hell.

 I still don't feel like a college student. Sometimes it just feels like I'm away at camp where I actually have to sometimes do stuff.

But Gossip Girl and Heroes are on tonight! Sadly, I think that's the highlight of my week.

 David told me not to take my sweater across campus to Spanish class because it was hot and muggy. Two minutes before class got out, it started pouring. My shirt was white.  I think a ghost just came into my room. Not really, but I thought I'd closed the door completely and it just opened and shut in the wind. It's raining! Everyone keeps looking at me funny because I'm so happy and dancing in the rain, but that's okay. Apparently it's acceptable to use umbrellas here, which makes me happy because umbrellas are fun. I really am both a better and worse friend than I thought. I'm helping and hoping. Tonight I gave advice that I really hoped to never have to give, but it just shows that even the hardest experiences give you tools to help other people.

I am obscenely excited to be back in the pit tomorrow night.

Three years ago today, my nephew's father, Maury Nickelson, died at the age of 25 from congestive heart failure. I still miss him. Big Maury was just about the gentlest guy I've known, and a wonderful father in the short time he had.

I should be doing my final final FQs right now, but I just feel too sick. Can't believe they're our last.

Today is the last final day of April I will spend in the PNW for the next four years. Probably. That's a little crazy. Less importantly, the last Wednesday I will be able to braid my hair, let alone put it in a bun, for a very long time. Exciting!
