So much for getting things accomplished this weekend, I didn't get much done to say the least. I wanted to start my World Religions paper, but didn't get to it, all I did was watch the movie that I am doing my paper on, and I didn't finish my online course for this week that just finished, so I am pretty much screwed with that too.  I guess you can ( Read more... )

Wow you're really into your musical stuff. Very impressive. Oboe is that like a wind instrument or something? Playing in front of people really scarse me, I only played during my recital for piano class and I think I almost died. So I'm very impressed and proud that you'll be playing your sole and ensemble. Good luck with that and also hope everything gets taken cared off before that big day. "She's in a class of her own." , that's says a LOT so your should be proud.

Glad you guys had a great time visiting your sister-in-law on her B-day.

Awww...thanks alot for your support Cheryll! I'm going to need it, heh. =]

Yep, the oboe is a woodwind instrument, it kind of looks like a clarinet, but its skinnier a little smaller, has a double reed, and has a much prettier sound, hehe, but I'm biased on the last one. Believe me I get terrified when I have to perform a solo in front of a judge, and the bad thing is that my mouth starts trembling too which is not a good thing when you are playing oboe, lol. But after a little bit, I just kind of forget that someone is listening and just focus.

Once again, thanks so much, it means alot! =]

Oh i see so it kinda looks like a clarinet. See I learn new stuff everyday :)Thanks Alexandira. I guess it's just human nature to be nervous but like you said once you're there and you start to play, you'll forget about the people around you.

Good luck again

Whoa, lots of work, Alex! I loooove the sound of oboe. If I ever take up a woodwind, definitely oboe. I've never played in front of a judge, but when I was in a college and belonged to a mandoline orchestra (I played the guitar), we had three regular concerts a year in a musical hall. I got nervous at first, but it became so exciting. Well, I never had a solo part, though. Only guitar part solo with three or four other students. So, playing solo is really impressive! Good luck and I hope you'll enjoy it!
