The oddest thing I've seen today:
While I was walking home on the path by the Cal football stadium, I passed by about 15 to 20 or so TURKEYS gobbling away, one with his back feathers fanned in display and a whole lot of others running across the mulch in an attempt to fly into the trees. I highly doubt I'd be able to chase one of those AND pin it down. You should have seen them running and semi flying.

Haha. Actually, I'd be scared to toucxh them. They look like such huge, heavy, birds.

i thought it was a gaggle of turkeys, similar to geese.

but this site says it's a rafter, flock or gang.

this site says it's a dule, which might be an archaic or specialized name since i can't find it in any of the online dictionaries.

about.com says rafter or muster.
