I'm really glad it comes across as real to you. Since it is actually based on true stories, I wanted it to feel as authentic as possible.

I guess the acid test will be if I can make the sequel work the same way.

I can't even...

Just the thought that Blaine still thinks, even after the truth comes to light, that his parents will not want him for ANY reason is so heart-breaking.

Stevie is stronger than I would have thought, considering he was repeatedly molested by a stranger, and in a huge, scary environment with lots of unknown adults running around, still being poked and prodded by the hospital personnel, and yet able to help Blaine thru HIS personal demons.

I truly, truly hope they catch Tom, and that the animals in prison know just what he's in there for...

lanhfiuwebsiufhbiewbsofhow;ends;oh; I CANNOT EVEN OH MY GOD YES YES YES YES YES

Seriously, I am incoherent with everything this section was right now. I'm so, so excited to read the epilogue, and this chapter has just devastated me, and I can't even figure out my thoughts in a sane order, so we're just going to have to do this with bullet points because I am beyond words about how good this story is.

-- Oh my god, Stevie. ;_______; I just... I was seriously squirming and recoiling and feeling physically ill when I realized who Tom was going to be taking, and I just kept on doing those things through most of the chapter. It's just so, so unfair and I can't. It's just... vile, and awful, and unimaginable, and Tom wanted Blaine to participate. That honestly makes me feel even sicker than anyone else. And... god, the long-term feel of it all just made my skin crawl. The way Tom was preparing him to become what Blaine had been... god, I can't ( ... )

Thanks for commenting! I'm so glad you liked the chapter :)

The whole concept of the kidnapper abducting another kid after the first one gets to old unfortunately isn't one I came up with on my own. It's not even exclusive to the Stayner story. There are a lot of similarities from one abductor to the next and one of the creepiest and most disgusting is that a lot of them try to get new kids when the first one passes a certain age. In some cases the new kids are ones that they've actually fathered with the first victims. It's just horrifying on so many levels ( ... )

I just want you to be aware that I am sitting in a coffee shop...a public place...crying. Because of this story. And how sad it is and how beautifully you write. I don't think I've ever gotten this invested in or emotional over a fic. This is so amazing and sad and everything that makes my emotions a big sobbing mess and I literally cannot wait until the epilogue.

Thank you so much! I'm super flattered that you like my writing so much, and I promise the epilogue will be up soon :)

Absolutely beautifully done, if that doesn't sound too odd to say about such a serious story.

I seriously hope that Burt thought to stop and get Kurt on his way out and that Tom gets everything that is coming to him. I look forward, or hope for, a hopeful ending for Blaine and Kurt and if not with the two of them together then at least for Blaine.

Have you ever thought about posting the whole story in PDF form once it's done? I would love to reread this, DL it to my bookshelf and take it with me. If not, I can cut and paste with the best of them.

Yeah...About that whole picking up Kurt thing. Don't hold your breath? I spent a long time while I was plotting the story trying to get Kurt to the hospital to talk to Blaine face-to-face. The only problem is it kept overshadowing Blaine meeting his parents, which at this point in the story is the more important thing. And then I had this perfect scene planned out for the first time they see each other again in the sequel, which I came up with before it was a sequel and was just the second half of the story (long story short, I'm being selfish and making everyone wait because I want to keep the scene). Of course that's not to say that they won't talk to each other at all...

And I guess I could post the story in a PDF for anyone who's interested when everything is finished. I've never made one for a story before, but I will mess around with formatting and see what I come up with :)

Parents definatly come first ... and I look forward to the healing sequel to come. This story tells an important truth, things aren't always as easy or simple as they seem.

I think that is on of the things I love about Glee in general and Klaine specifically, the "truths" that are told and the assumptions that have been challenged. It does change lives and encourages those of us touched to take that lesson out to the world.

I am currently trying to set up some sort of GBLT support system through the local school board in my local overly conservitive community. My 12 yrar old daughter has told me about some of what has been going on with "orientation" based bullying and so far the only approved response for the school counselor with questioning youth is referal to 2 county approved sites ... and they had NEVER heard of TREVOR.
