Sometimes when a thing is really good, you want it more than one time.
can i have this story more than one time? can i have it all the times?
because seriously, i go from crying when blaine and his dad are talking, to cracking up at little kid!blaine, to sobbing because blaine is just so broken.
i mean it is just so tragic that blaine thinks his dad hates him and is disappointed in him, but really he just doesn't want to do anything to make blaine uncomfortable. ever since part two even i thought that his dad was afraid to touch him because it would cause blaine to feel bad. he asked his dad not to touch him, and his dad was just trying to respect his wishes. both of them don't think that they are what the other wants and needs when in reality they mean everything to each other.
even when things are getting better, his life is so hard and he is so lost and he's going to end up with another std, right? because nothing else is going right for him...
anderson anderson is genius. (and the mole was quality television no joke. i love

Truly Burt Hummel is the Chuck Norris of dads XD Thanks for reading and I'm glad you like it (and I love you, too)!
I AM GOING TO TALK ABOUT SPOILERS IN REGARDS TO YOUR CROSSED OUT QUESTION AND STIs IN GENERAL, WHICH I HOPEFULLY DON'T EXPLAIN INCORRECTLY BECAUSE I'M FAR FROM AN EXPERT. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ IT, SKIP THIS NEXT PART, OKAY?
No. This is it. I honestly didn't think it was overly realistic for him not to have anything, but the more research I did the more apparent it became that almost anything else I could have given him would have been causing him problems in very obvious ways before now, and I never wrote in any symptoms earlier. Even if he'd never been sick enough to get treatment, there would have been signs impossible to ignore, since the story is in his PoV. There was of course the potential that, like his mom said, Tom could have passed something on to him towards the end of Blaine's time with him, but to be honest, I didn't have the heart to do that to him. The coldsore thing was bad enough

well thanks you for making blaine's life just a little bit better :) and once you pointed out that he would have symptoms and stuff i was like 'well duh, of course he would have had to have symptoms. one crisis averted.'
and can i just say when you said STI's in your spoiler notice and then said the i'm not an expert, but i'm trying to explain...i was fully expecting to be chewed out for saying STD instead of STI, because some people are very gung ho about terminology and i had a minor panic attack that i had offended you or something. second crisis averted.
Meh. I use them interchangeably most of the time myself, and to be honest, after the time I spent researching this stuff, I don't fault anyone the opportunity to avoid being cringingly accurate about something like medical/PC terminology about all the things that can go wrong when you're having sex (lesson learned the hard way while researching this chapter - my god, I never want to look at another medical web page again. They're really big believers in picking the worst case scenarios to illustrate what they're talking about. *shudder*).
Amazing. I've been following this for a while and each update just gets better! The emotional journey that Blaine is travelling is far from over. The recovery process and his social bonds were depicted in an amazing way and with great emotional depth. This story deals with extreme circumstances in a way that doesn't feel cheap or hysterical. Your mature handling of abuse is commendable and I look forward to further developments. I was in tears during most of thhis chapter!
Thank you so much for your comment! I really try hard to handle everything as realistically as I can manage it, so it always means so much when someone tells me it's believable to them :)
I struggle but this time I only shed one or two tears instead of the rivers that usually pour out of my eyes. Great chapter. I really loved the part with Quinn. I like that they are messes but helping each other. And the part with Kurt at the end, so good. I really love their relationship in this. I think that Kurt has so much compassion in him, he is so ready to support, he and Blaine are a perfect fit.
Yes! I'm so excited that it's getting a little less intense as the story progresses. It's really hard to move the storyline away from such a depressing place, just because the recovery process is so draining, it can be hard to see the improvement being made at the same time. I'm glad it's working for you

I'm happy the future sequences work for you (but, um, apologies in advance for the next one? Because while I think it's still going to make people happy to see how Kurt and Blaine's relationship works, and how their personalities compliment each other, and give a better window into how Kurt deals with the situation when Blaine isn't around in the present timeline...it gets pretty grim?).
Their wedding will not be a part of this story, unfortunately. It is something I have fairly well laid out in my head though, along with some other scenes that don't fit here (Blaine leaving for college, things I can't tell you about because they are spoilers but are related to the adoption haha, etc.). I've been debating writing a few standalones at some point, if there's enough interest in them. We'll have to see :)
I completely get what you mean, too (do the same thing haha).
It's something I'm legitimately considering doing anyhow. There's so much I wanted to put in here but it just doesn't fit. A few weeks ago I was getting all sad because my brain was writing the Blaine Goes to College scenes and I was all, "No! Stop doing that! There's no more room!!"
I feel like I always need time to process your latest updates in order to write coherent thoughts/review, because this story affects me that much. It's so incredibly well written, so well-thought out and planned and you put such obvious care into it that it continually blows me away

The more I wrote the scenes between Blaine and Warren, the more obvious it became to me that Blaine was getting to her in a way not a lot of people managed. Right about the time she gave him the Panda Sneeze Look in the last story, I realized I'd have to bring her back because they'd made such a strong impression on each other XD
