i agree with you though i don't feel he should be let out i do believe he shouldn't be killed what better way to make up for something wrong by advocating against it. he is a more authoritive source then normal people because he has lived the life and been in a gang well created one. he saying it is wrong to somone in a gang has more foundation then if you, i or someone else that hasn't been in a gang says that. i think he should be spared.

i always thought it was spelled "cryps". i could be wrong though

im very two sided on this subject. part of me says even though he may be rehibilitated, it doesnt excuse the fact that what he started got thousands of people killed. not to mention that even though he denies it, he very well may have taken part in the killings and the victims families deserve justice and closure. another part of me says he is rehibilitated and has learned from his mistakes, prison has actually changed someone for the better, and should be spared. but the bottom line is he started a gang, got lots of people killed wether or not he physically took part in them, and he should pay the consequesces for his actions. if he had the ambition to write books today then he had that same ambition to write them years ago but he chose to do bad deeds instead and that ambition came too late. im for the death penalty

I agree with you, while I kind of like/don't like the death penalty, there are cases where I believe it is appropriate and others where it isn't. This is one where I agree that he doesn't deserve to die, though his other option would probably have been life in prison. It is without a doubt that he was convicted of murder (won't get into whether he really did) and started one of the largest gangs, however he has redeemed himself and helped to bring a peace between the bloods and the crips. Not to mention I believe in personal responsibility, and while he may have created the vehicle for many crimes/murders, the people who commited them are adults and capable of making decisions, therefore more blame should rest on them than on the creator of the gang. I digress.

by suggesting that he should maybe have been spared, i did not mean that he should have been freed. (and, it is spelled "crips" - although i used to think that it was spelled cryps, too....)

either way, it's pretty much a moot point now.
