Fandom: taking back Valentine's Day since 2008!

So last year bottle-of-shine had a Kissing Battle. The last edition is here (EDITED TO ADD: this is the old battle, not the current one!). It was a lot of fun and might be known around FF-fandom circles as the best Meme ever**.

She glances aside to see the young man looking pointedly at her over his stack of books. “I am not a suitable tutor, my lord. You have Master Caros for that.”

Her petulant charge crosses his arms and leans back in the chair. “I require a different kind of instruction. You will teach me how to kiss properly.”

Drace cannot help but raise an eyebrow at this request. Word has been circulating that the young lord’s mother will be having another child - perhaps he wishes to grow up now that he will no longer be the youngest. “My lord, I serve the Empire. That is not appropriate. Are there no willing girls at court for that sort of thing?”

Vayne smacks an angry fist on the desk, sending a pile of his translations and arithmetic to the floor. “I do not want to learn from some girl. I am a man now, Drace. And in serving the Empire, you serve me ( ... )

Oh my god, you darling, I could kiss you. Or at least, shower you with face-to-face phrase once I get back to Chicago. This was so wonderfully sweet and funny and clever-- and that is not something I expected from Drace/Vayne but is amazing;ly awesome to see anyway! ♥

I've never written either of them before (because they terrify me) so I'm glad you didn't respond with "Ok, did we play the same game? Who are these characters and why did you call them 'Vayne' and 'Drace'??" :)!!

Penelo had successfully hid herself behind her stove (busying herself with cooking even though she could in fact hear the groans of her comrades) when Larsa had come on the Galbana with Lady Ashe and Basch, but she was rapidly running out of excuses to stay there. She cleaned the large pot three times until it shone, and then she figured that she might as well face the music and emerge, and she did so with as much grace as she could muster (trying very hard not to let her face reveal her emotions ( ... )

::sigh:: This was lovely, just lovely. Heart-felt nad funny and sweet and... I just love how much subtle emotion you manage to place in the little details-- like the feel of Larsa's fingers and the pounding of Penelo's heart and how many times Penelo's cleaned that damn pot to put off meeting Larsa. This utterly charmed me!

And I've noticed that we're not friends yet, even though you're full of win and awesome! Want to rectify that mistake, then? ;)

This totally wanted to spin into full-length. I have no idea why I'm hooked on the funny; I can't think of come-backs in real life, like, EVER. EVER. Not even twenty minutes after. (My brain only works with a keyboard plugged in, maybe?)

Drace blinked owlishly at the boy who had just walked into her and spilled all her books, as he apologized profusely and helped her pick up. He had long, almost girlish black hair that was free over his shoulders, fairly comely, and his gangling stride promised future grace. Still, even with his rich, slightly tasteless clothes (gold lace with white linens?), and for all his courtly words, she was fairly sure he was not supposed to be here ( ... )

Captain Basch, Vaan, and Balthier performed a rather long quickening chain, while Fran and the princess alternated between casting Thundara on the entite, and keeping the party alive with cure spells ( ... )
