My... that was certainly QUITE a production, wasn't it?
[ And he chuckles. ]
My sympathy to the girl in question, but unfortunately, our 'doctor' is quite correct: acting rashly tends to end poorly. As in people dying... or ending up in animal suits.
[ A heightened sense of taste really wasn't so bad. It seemed he'd gotten lucky for once. One

[ That is all he will say. ]
My, that woman was something of an idiot. And how is the girl faring?
[ See, he DOES, in fact, have a heart. It's just... hard to see. ]

God abandoned me when I died, so I abandoned him. He has a nasty habit of abandoning those who served him, you of all people should know that. Thus, when I spit His verses, I do so with the utmost blasphemy.
And the girl is fine. Resting.

... Indeed he does.
[ A sigh. ] Please do try to control yourself next time. I will personally be among the ones to, at the very least, assure that woman isn't foolhardy enough to sign her own death warrant and decide to harm the child again. Although she seems to be quite a waste of an existence, unfortunately.
[ Or nonexistance, as the case may be. ]
Do try to think of the girl's possible friends here as well--you can harm her in other ways, intentionally or not.

I'm not so sick to be prevented from moving and talking. [He is a little softer in volume. Damn heightened hearing, dude.] What did you need to talk about, Naoya?

[ His smile is audible, he's not going to say it over an unsecured line. ]
Quite a shame, the Composer himself can't fight a little human cold, hm?
Reply
[Let's play the subtlety game!]
Hee hee, probably because the Composer hasn't been in human form for this long in many years.

[So confused at this new information!]
Wait...death isn't permanent here? How's that even possible...?
Reply
[ ... He chuckles. ]
My, death is never permanent if you have a grasp on the soul of the recently deceased in question. It's simply a matter of whether or not you are capable of the task of giving them said soul back.
Reply
[Just...going to leave it at that.]
That makes sense, but would returning the soul into another body cause some side-effects?
Reply
... You assume it's always going to be a new body? If they can bring us here, why can't they reanimate flesh as well or heal it? It isn't hard if you have the soul to make the body follow suit.

[... Now she doesn't have to worry about not seeing him again.]

Their resources are limited. I don't need you people dying left and right and causing problems, after all. It would be rather irritating.

Yes, me and Toshi are doing fine. We managed to stay out of the way until it was over. [ He frowns for a moment before perking up again. He did want to help more, but really, without his contracted demons, he's a lot less effective in battle and he knew it. Thank you lockdown for giving him a hero complex. ] And really? I haven't actually been around when whoever was fixing stuff was around. Weird luck on my part, I guess. But that's pretty amazing that they can do something like that! Should I ask around about who did it?

[ A pause. ] I'm certain the Goddess in this city is responsible. It felt rather strongly like one of the ones who wields the sort of power that allows them to create, rather than destroy.
What is a demon, Atsuro? Tell me, this'll be on the exam later. What defines a demon to you?
Reply
Eh, a pop quiz!? Umm...well...
Demons are beings from another world that we can make contracts with through use of rituals or the COMPs. The Bels are among the strongest of them, and the Bel that wins the Throne of Bel has power over the other demons. But while people are scared of them, I think their power could be used to advance technology to a level we can't normally reach by ourselves for a decade or more.

Mm, that would be Laksmi, I presume. A demon more focused on healing. Demon is a catch-all, Atsuro. It would do you well to remember that although humanity and demons could very well coexist, humanity has potential for as much bad as it does good. The fact we immediately think of ritualistic motions or 'evil' associated with the very word itself simply means that we have made it so; demons were not originally evil. In fact, if you were to ask the religious, they were simply misguided divinity.
... Personally, humanity is far more an evil creature than any demon. While it's true some can be pure good, some can be pure evil. But others are simply surviving... isn't that the same as us, in the end? Humans can be defined by 'good' or 'bad'. So can demons.
[ That's the lecture you will get today. C: REMEMBER IT. ]
