[ Eleventh Reincarnation | Video | Aftermath ]

My... that was certainly QUITE a production, wasn't it?

[ And he chuckles. ]

My sympathy to the girl in question, but unfortunately, our 'doctor' is quite correct: acting rashly tends to end poorly. As in people dying... or ending up in animal suits.

[ A heightened sense of taste really wasn't so bad. It seemed he'd gotten lucky for once. One ( Read more... )

I am well versed in the Laws of Death in this City, Fallen Son of Man. You do not needeth to remind this old Monster. Need I spit verses from the Book at you, hmn?

Unnecessary. I know the work on my creator well enough by now to be rather sick of it, vampire; you of all people should know His laws and what is written isn't absolute, anyway.

[ That is all he will say. ]

My, that woman was something of an idiot. And how is the girl faring?

[ See, he DOES, in fact, have a heart. It's just... hard to see. ]

As Nietzsche once said: "God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him".

God abandoned me when I died, so I abandoned him. He has a nasty habit of abandoning those who served him, you of all people should know that. Thus, when I spit His verses, I do so with the utmost blasphemy.

And the girl is fine. Resting.

[ He just smiles absently, tilting his head. ]

... Indeed he does.

[ A sigh. ] Please do try to control yourself next time. I will personally be among the ones to, at the very least, assure that woman isn't foolhardy enough to sign her own death warrant and decide to harm the child again. Although she seems to be quite a waste of an existence, unfortunately.

[ Or nonexistance, as the case may be. ]

Do try to think of the girl's possible friends here as well--you can harm her in other ways, intentionally or not.

[The only reason he's using voice is because he doesn't need Naoya to see anymore of him being sick and weak. Bastard.]

I'm not so sick to be prevented from moving and talking. [He is a little softer in volume. Damn heightened hearing, dude.] What did you need to talk about, Naoya?

And here I had hoped to get a nice view of you in an animal suit, Yoshiya.

[ His smile is audible, he's not going to say it over an unsecured line. ]

Quite a shame, the Composer himself can't fight a little human cold, hm?

There's always a live viewing. I actually kind of like it.

[Let's play the subtlety game!]

Hee hee, probably because the Composer hasn't been in human form for this long in many years.

My, just a few weeks in this form and you're sick. Is humanity truly that difficult once you've had your data enhanced, Yoshiya?

...Eh? Animal suits?

[So confused at this new information!]

Wait...death isn't permanent here? How's that even possible...?

first_scorned November 23 2010, 17:37:09 UTC
You needn't concern yourself, child.

[ ... He chuckles. ]

My, death is never permanent if you have a grasp on the soul of the recently deceased in question. It's simply a matter of whether or not you are capable of the task of giving them said soul back.

flutterbyfool November 23 2010, 17:45:31 UTC
Okay, then.

[Just...going to leave it at that.]

That makes sense, but would returning the soul into another body cause some side-effects?

[ He chuckles. ]

... You assume it's always going to be a new body? If they can bring us here, why can't they reanimate flesh as well or heal it? It isn't hard if you have the soul to make the body follow suit.

Death isn't permanent? Good to know!

[... Now she doesn't have to worry about not seeing him again.]

It is indeed temporary, but I wouldn't push this.

Well, not like I had any intention of dying anyway. No point in getting hurt needlessly, right?

Oh, I couldn't care less what you or anyone else does with your lives; it's yours to waste, after all. Or not waste, as the case may be. Rather, it concerns me if you're all DUMB enough to push our captors far enough.

Their resources are limited. I don't need you people dying left and right and causing problems, after all. It would be rather irritating.

Animal suits... Man, that's such a weird punishment! But at least everything's calmed down now. [ Nooot gonna touch that death subject, no. No need to be depressing. Things (mostly) ended well, and that's what's most important. ...Wait, what, people could be revived!? ] Erm... And as for how they're reviving anyone, well, I haven't been here long enough to guess something like that. I didn't think that was even possible at all until you mentioned it...

[ Filtered to Naoya ]

Yes, me and Toshi are doing fine. We managed to stay out of the way until it was over. [ He frowns for a moment before perking up again. He did want to help more, but really, without his contracted demons, he's a lot less effective in battle and he knew it. Thank you lockdown for giving him a hero complex. ] And really? I haven't actually been around when whoever was fixing stuff was around. Weird luck on my part, I guess. But that's pretty amazing that they can do something like that! Should I ask around about who did it?

... Good.

[ A pause. ] I'm certain the Goddess in this city is responsible. It felt rather strongly like one of the ones who wields the sort of power that allows them to create, rather than destroy.

What is a demon, Atsuro? Tell me, this'll be on the exam later. What defines a demon to you?

A Goddess... Sounds different even from that one this person I met, Amane, summoned so she wouldn't scare the people she was helping.

Eh, a pop quiz!? Umm...well...

Demons are beings from another world that we can make contracts with through use of rituals or the COMPs. The Bels are among the strongest of them, and the Bel that wins the Throne of Bel has power over the other demons. But while people are scared of them, I think their power could be used to advance technology to a level we can't normally reach by ourselves for a decade or more.

[ ... Amane. He makes no obvious expression, face remaining in the enigmatic smile. He does not LIKE the maiden, but he had worked for her. She has, at least, his begrudging respect. ]

Mm, that would be Laksmi, I presume. A demon more focused on healing. Demon is a catch-all, Atsuro. It would do you well to remember that although humanity and demons could very well coexist, humanity has potential for as much bad as it does good. The fact we immediately think of ritualistic motions or 'evil' associated with the very word itself simply means that we have made it so; demons were not originally evil. In fact, if you were to ask the religious, they were simply misguided divinity.

... Personally, humanity is far more an evil creature than any demon. While it's true some can be pure good, some can be pure evil. But others are simply surviving... isn't that the same as us, in the end? Humans can be defined by 'good' or 'bad'. So can demons.

[ That's the lecture you will get today. C: REMEMBER IT. ]
