"Hey, Rush. You want to play fetch," he asked the dog after getting a hold of his snickers. A sub transformation later and Rush was headed the crewmen's way. There was nothing they could do but keep paddling as they were slowly tugged to shore.
Blues fairly cackled with laughter as Rush dragged the boat back to the shoreline. And as soon as it was within decent human hearing range, he called out to the crewmen.
"Sorry, but that's not going to work. I'd recommend getting out as soon as you're beached --"
In the same moment, he started to prime his buster.
Rush shoved the boat on shore before reverting into his normal mode and running back to the group. The two men yelped and jumped out of the boat, cursing as they started fleeing into the trees once again. Rockman simply shook his head, not thinking it worth it to chase after them when there was no where for them to go, and patted Rush happily for his help.
"Ah. You're back." Light swiveled in his chair to face Blues.
"And I may have. You see, when I completed the repairs, I came to find that certain replaced parts reattained the damage from before. At first I thought a type of nanites were at work, given the research I have gain from other worlds. But seems to not be the case."
Just when he thought things couldn't get more bizarre, it all proved him wrong again ...
"Might be a chemical degrader of some kind? If the replacements have the same kind of stress-points or molecular weaknesses they might go to pieces at the same spots."
"Damned strange for damage to reappear on parts the attacks didn't touch, though."
"Oh no, it didn't touch anything that wasn't damaged before. So you may be right about a chemical degrader. I'll have another look. Hopefully all it'll take is the right type of neutralizer."
Zero wouldn't have to rip into the door for entrance as Blues' presence was enough. Tango wasted no time zipping under their legs and through the door. It was dim, a bench light and the glow from the hall casting shadows across the room. This didn't stop Rock from rushing in after the robotic cat. Had they finally found where Blues had been hiding for so long? Was he hurt? Was he even still alive? That last thought was almost enough to bring Rock to a halt, but he tripped over something first.
Rockman didn't say anything as he untangled himself from the loops of cable going from one computer to another. They should be cautious and he felt like an idiot for forgetting that.
The room looked operational and only slightly unused - the computer systems were running, quietly humming in the background. That it wasn't from Tango's recordings might be of note, but it had a similar feel.
Then a sad, plaintive mew came from further in, where Tango had scurried to. But even though he'd freed himself, Rockman stayed put and waited for Blues. His rush to find his brother halted by the fear of what he might find.
Following Tango's cry, Blues carefully picked his way across the room towards the direction the catbot had darted off in. There'd be enough time to check the details of the place afterwards.
Or he could ask Zero, who began to investigate the room's contents while Blues' attention was elsewhere.

"Time to start hopping, what do you say --?"

"So what is it," Rock asked.
"Oh, I don't know yet. It's very perplexing."

Not that I expect that to actually work --
Being decidedly more cautious than Rock or Tango, Blues edged into the doorway and toggled an infrared overlay into his line of sight.
Let's see what we can see ...
Leaning into the doorway behind Blues, Zero tested for scents and other signatures, physical, energy or otherwise.
