After seeing starkeymonster post about planning to cook 50 new dishes last year, I wanted to do the same. I got close but finished just short of the goal with 46 new recipes tried. Ah well. I'll take another stab at it for this year. Come cook with me! I haven't been hanging out on LJ as much as I used to but whenever I do, I love seeing pictures and recipes in ( Read more... )

You are so much more organized about this than I am. I started tagging the entries. But really I stopped posting and that's where I fell apart. I'm pretty sure I made it for 2006 but who knows really and I'm not going back to figure it out.

But you've inspired me to play again in 2007.

Oh I didn't get around to posting about everything but I did update the master list. I think I might've missed one or two dishes but I couldn't think of what they were. Luckily, I almost always grab a photo so I can scan back through my photos and see what I ate before. Glad you're playing again this year :)

K here ya go.

Lentil Couscous soup.

1/4 cup of lentils
2 bay leaves
3 cloves of garlic minced
1 tablespoon of minced onion
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/4 cup of quick cooking couscous

If you like cookies that aren't too sweet, try the ginger citrus cookies I made -- I posted the recipe in December sometime before the 20th. I've set a goal of not getting as much takeout this year and the natural consequence of that is cooking at home more often. Sooner or later I get bored with the recipes I already know, so I love seeing new recipes and reading reviews. BTW, I made a very basic, not terribly authentic paella earlier this month that was pretty good but you definintely need to use short grain rice for it. Good to read you again -- how have you been?...

Yay! I'm trying to do 70 recipes this year, but so far I'm really behind. It might be too ambitious.
