DAYDREAM BELIEVERS

Sep 06, 2006 20:17

*

It’s dawn. I haven’t slept in two days. Still, I’ve managed to look my best in designer jeans and a button-down, hair mussed just so, sipping a trendy energy drink and sporting sunglasses even before the sun has fully risen. On any other day, it’d be safe to assume that I’m on drugs-but I’m not.

(I'm on American Idol.)

Wow, I'm truely impressed by your willingness to help Becky out by accompanying her to something like that. No adult job or not, it goes above and beyond the normal requirements of friendship.

What sometimes saddens me about the scene you described is how often people seem to believe that their life can't be fulfilling and happy without some level of fame or noteriety. Just being "ordinary" is seen as some type of dismal failure.

Oh I went willingly, knowing it'd make a great subject for my column. It was an interesting experience...once. I don't think I could survive it again, 12 hours is brutal.

I can't really say much about those people since I'm one of them. ;)

This is why I say you are a writer... foxyfyzx September 7 2006, 15:16:04 UTC
But best of all are the ones who step, blank-faced, into the harsh light of day-their expressions betray just a trace of bewilderment, as if suddenly confronted with finding a new life’s purpose. Where are the cameras? I wonder. This is reality.
