Shoplifters can just go die

We totally got hit with shoplifters tonight. I heard one asking the other where the vanilla candle she likes was located. So I, being the good little customer service person I am, piped in and lead them over and took 1 out of the freshly stocked wall so she could smell it. I then went back to work after a few seconds of chit chat about the ( Read more... )

sounds like what I deal with everyday at walgreens. They steal not the whole box of condoms..just one..why....if you're going to take something then take it. They take tons of air fresheners...thats a big thing at our store, condoms are big too, and pregnancy tests are a huge thing. Alot of these white teens around here come in take it off the shelf and go to the bathroom to use it without paying. They leave the box open in the bathroom half empty. We do watch them more now when we see them go towards that area. This side of town there are a lot of sorry to say poor white girls..or as most call them here trailer trash and they really live up to that name. Some of these girls are smart but one stupid night gets them in trouble. I remember one time during the xmas holidays I came in and when to the office to check in and I saw this black guy in the sock/panties/hair irons etc aisle and I said hello as always. I'm all for stealing food if it's steal or die. I actually got into a debate about that with some asshat I was in a training with one day.

However, when we have several different groups of women and they are all black, it falls into the stereotype. I'm not saying every black person steals or that there are no white people who steal, but it's sickening to me that these women don't think anything about the stereotype they're playing into. And it's not like they're stealing bread for their next meal. They're stealing candles, coasters and room spray. These are not essentials for everyday life. I'm not about to chase them out of the store, but I am stuck to them like glue when they're in the store.

Yesterday at work a big group of teens rode up on their bikes with backpacks. When one of them walked in, my coworker told her that she would have to check her bag at customer service. Her response was "Aw man!" and she walked out and her and her friends rode away. It was so blatant we couldn't help but laugh at it.
