I live in Texas now. It's not the best place in the world but it's ok. My classmates are awfully nice. I'm likely to be happy here.

Now if I could just remember how to write. I forgot that was important in grad school.

I guess I can sum up the last nine months of my life by saying that I love France and I am regretting every day that I left. And now I am counting down the days until I can leave Omaha again. I f-ing hate Omaha.

I finally got some medicine for my headaches today. I feel so much better. My stupid way of trying to tough things out is the worst thing about me, I think. If I had just gone a week or two weeks ago, life would have been much more pleasant.

I spent the weekend in Rouen, which is an amazingly gorgeous city. I stayed with some French people, which was good, because it meant I had to speak French all weekend. They are super nice and I plan to go back soon. I went to a French jazz club, which was interesting at least. Rouen made me so sad to live in Lisieux and the academie of Caen. ( Read more... )

This was an experience that I was dreading, but, seeing as how a piece of a coffee cup had been embedded in my heel for a full four weeks, it was time. I had a really fantastic day today. In one of my 6eme classes (which is the same as a 6th grade) I had most teachery moment so far. This is normally a good class, but I normally also see the other half of it. This half is considered to be the "slow" half, and there is no hope of speaking English with them at all.
