That was amazing! I'm not sure if you implied that Merlin was helping the war to bring Arthur back or if that was some crazy idea this flu pills have given me. Anyway, you succeeded on making Dark!Merlin scary and believable. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for commenting! Hopefully it's not too obscure but yes, Merlin has been very much trying to cause chaos for a long time, lately with Grindelwald and Voldermort. (I'm also deeply suspicious about the creation of the Hallows, especially the Elder Wand, although this not implied in the story itself)

Thank you! It was a surprise how well the two universes really fell in with each other after the idea first struck. Of course this was considerably supported by HP canon which already recognized Merlin and Arthur.

Just want to you to know that I reread this today and it's still every bit as stunning as it was when I read it for the first time two years ago. It's only a few thousand words but the idea you've sown is so compelling that my mind can imagine novels upon novels being filled with Merlin's mad grief and desperate attempts to goad Arthur back into existence.
