It is. Even long-standing, loving relationships can hit bumps in the road. It's something that I haven't seen examined in fanfic much, or at all. I was glad to see it in your fic, and I yes, I was very moved. Thank you again.

I love fics where Jim and Spock aren't just magically perfect for each other and go prancing through a field of flowers celebrating their perfect love forever and ever amen. I wish more fics presented what you've got here: an imperfect union, with all the same pitfalls of anyone's relationship, which they're willing to work on because they do care about each other despite how hurtful they can be to each other. The mystical relationship trope where everything works out perfectly for the duration is, frankly, a little boring, tired and eye-roll-inducing. It's just not how real relationships work, and I love to see Jim and Spock in a real relationship. So this fic is great, I love it, no sequel where everything is magically sunshine and roses needed, thank you.

I've PMed you with a small grammar nit-pick, I hope you don't mind, but I didn't think it belonged in the public comment where I love all over your work.

Ugh. I know. The perfection was getting to me too. Relationships, above all else, are work. Everyone has limits and everyone pushes them. As easy as falling in love may be, there's always the time after the honeymoon period. Each person comes up to the line and toes over. That's the time when ground rules are laid *;)*
