[Character name] Sanada Yukimura
[Age] 17
[Canon] Sengoku BASARA (anime verse)
[Point in time taken from canon] End of season 1

[Background]
Some simple information But since that's just the simplest of the simple. I'll just write out the background.

The time was Sengoku era - the period of Warring States.

Every ambitious men were gathering to seize the country and make their ideals into reality. Of course, Sanada Yukimura was no exception. As a loyal supporter of the Tiger of Kai, Takdeda Shingen, Yukimura fought for the day when his lord's flag will fly over the capital. One faithful night, when he was to take out the army of Uesagi Kenshin (Takeda's military rival), he met his own rival: Date Masamune - the One-Eyed Dragon.

From their first encounter, they started off on the wrong end. In fact, they jumped right into battle after a brief moment of bickering. Of course, their strengths were equally matched, and only when Yukimura's ninja Sarutobi Sasuke intervened, did the brawl stop. After Masamune's troop retreated, Yukimura confessed with trembling voice that his heart was set 'ablaze'. He had never met someone with such strength as his enemy.

And so started a beautiful rivalry.

Their paths crossed again when Takeda forces moved out to take out Hojo and Yoshimoto. Date and his men intentionally led Hojo's men to the unprepared Takeda troops and caused an outbreak of sudden battle, while Date chased after Yoshimoto in hopes of getting his head. With approval from his lord, Yukimura chased after the One-Eyed Dragon - the head will belong to the Takeda clan!

However, it turned out that the head went to Oda Nobunaga's hands, the infamous Demon King. With a chilling entrance, he announced to Yukimura and Date that he'll soon seize the country.

His order of plan was to kill his own brother-in-law Azai Nagamasa (injuring Date in process), leave Ieyasu to defend himself despite their military alliance, and attempted to assassinate the two most prominent figures at that time: Takeda and Uesagi. While being all-rounded total douchebag. Date and Takeda troops call truce after a hard battle with the Demon King. The unexpected truce gave Yukimura some time to get to know his rival better, and in turn, he came to respect him. He even tried to help when Koujiro (Date's attendant) braved into an enemy's territory to face the man who had kidnapped Date's soldiers.

Soon enough, the lords of Japan began taking actions against Nobunaga. But while in middle of calling for an alliance, the previously mentioned assassination attempt happened, and Yukimura's beloved and thought to be invincible Oyakata-sama became bed-ridden. Uncertain and frightened, Yukimura admitted that without his lord, he was "scared."

Annoyed by Yukimura's hesitancy to take action, Date gave him some not-so-gentle words of guidance. With those words and after seeing his lord's tightly clenched fist, Yukimura's usual courage flared again. And they, with armies all around different regions, took out Nobunaga and his forces. With a big bang.

But the story isn't over yet. Japan still needed to united.

[Personality]

Yukimura Sanada is what you would describe as hot-blooded warrior.

He loves to fight and test his strength on the battlefield. So much that when he finds a formidable opponent, the first thing he would do is challenge the said opponent to one-on-one battle. If he does fight, he charges on ahead and fights until the end! ... Or at least until he wins or until he plops down to the dirt.

But despite his battle-crazy persona, he does have his reasons for being so. His ultimate motivation for fighting is for the sake of his lord ("Oyakata-sama") whom he holds in highest regard. He firmly believes that his lord will someday unite Japan and rule the capital. And that belief and his loyalty will not break or waver under any circumstances.

Other than fighting, he is pretty much useless however. He lacks common sense and wits - especially in terms of reading moods. And while he should have some experience, he is very naive and ignorant when it comes to romances or the opposite sex. In fact, you can say that he very like a pre-teen. If a girl is wearing something revealing, he would abruptly turn around and shout 'shameful!'. He also gets excited over things easily (especially if it involves his lord) and loves to fill his free time with sweets.

He does have good points! For example, he is always true to himself. The fact that he doesn't like to lie or cheat is enough proof of that. Yukimura also is very respectful to most of the people he meets (unless you've done something to lose that respect), probably due to the fact that he hails from a noble family. And even though he's a warrior, he has a tenderness in his heart that makes him a human.

[Abilities]

Yukimura is a master of his weapon - two lances. He is capable of being inhumanly agile with them, as well as emit fire with his movements which most of his attacks are based off of. The origin of the fire itself is a mystery as it is never mentioned if it is magic or some kind of ki/soul energy technique. However, considering its genre, the latter of the two is the likely choice.

He also has an amazing ability to ride a horse without using his hands (because he uses them to hold his spears) and throw normal people off of their feet while riding at full speed.

[Other important stuff]
- He usually calls people with the honorific '-dono'.
- He speaks in an old-fashioned away. Coming from medieval Japan, it's no shock though. As compared to his rival who spurts out English words randomly.
- He loves dango.
- He has a ninja. No in fact, a squadron of ninja who serves under his family back home.
- OYAKATA-SAMAAAAAAA!! /PUNCH'd

[Sample post]
I-I see...! So this is how you work this device!

*There is a some shouts of 'amazing - you're amazing, Atoli-dono!' and the girl's embarrassed laugh. Yukimura faces the camera with a nervous look. He stares and stares, until he turns around.*

What do people usually talk about in this 'Netoworku'?

Anything you like, Yukimura-san.

*He ponders this, with a rare thoughtful expression. And as if he got a brilliant master-plan, he points to the screen with much enthusiasm.*

Men! If you are truly worthy enough to call thyself such, this Sanada Genjiro Yukimura challenge you to a spar! My heart wildly beats in anticipation to see what warriors of other worlds would be like ...! And I promise you -

*his pointing hand suddenly clenches into a tight fist.*

A FAIR FIGHT!!

* - And after that holler, he glances off-screen again as if to seek her approval.*

That was, um, unique? *And so goes the feed.*

[What do you hope to do with this character in Somarium?] I really would like Yukimura to meet different kinds of people. Maybe Japanese young 'uns from the modern times. Maybe get a Sasuke and have lulz.

[Which rule was your favorite and why?] Be active because ... I seriously need to follow that rule.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] Too lazy.
[Any questions?] So what is this toilet you speak of?
