As is gelato, but we already knew that. We went to Mod's for dinner and had some delicious foods. We've also been going to Elote's a lot lately for ( Read more... )

That's so sad about Smooch, I'm sorry. This stuff can come about so suddenly with animals, and it's always so wrenching.

Kaylee sounds like Skittles, who'll watch in aloof amusement as we struggle against inertia to get the basset hound where she needs to be.

Thanks, Jordan. It is.

Aren't animals strange? Kaylee does keep sort of wandering around sniffing the edges of all the rooms, like she thinks we're hiding Smooch somewhere, and she wouldn't eat for a day or so because I was putting food in the wrong bowl. So I guess she's noticed he's gone, at least. :-(

I'm really sorry, Katie. I faced a similar situation with my childhood dog, Indy, six months ago. She was in a lot of pain, and although we desperately wanted to find an option that would allow her to feel better and us to enjoy her company, there was nothing else we could do. I wrestled with some guilt as well, but it was really the only decision we could make in good conscience. I'll be thinking about you and Hyphen. It's always hard to lose a pet. :(

Thanks, Hilary. I know we did the right thing--it was obvious he wasn't coming back from this. You still always wonder about the what ifs, though.

Smooch was only my dog for a little over a year, though he was Hyphen's childhood dog, and it still sucks. Two of my three childhood dogs died a couple years ago, and I wasn't there for either of them. They just never live long enough.

Sorry about your doggy. :-/ That's gotta be really hard! <3 Hugs.

HOWEVER, can I give you a PSA about cockroaches? If you smash one that happens to be a female, you could be smearing its little devious about-to-hatch-and-thrive eggs everywhere. At least that's what I've read.

Thanks. :-(

WHAT. I DON'T EVEN WANT TO KNOW THESE THINGS. Though actually I guess I do so I can try to prevent it. I wiped it up and threw it away...guess I should take the trash out. Ick!
