Internship woes

Last night I was unable to sleep because something about my internship dawned on me. I will be commuting from Mankato to St. Paul everyday because I can't afford 2 apartments, subleasing half of my room isn't an option, and I would just like to stay in Mankato as long as I can. The problem I realized with this is my fear of winter driving. I have ( Read more... )

I don't know how it would work with Mankato, but you'd definitely be able to find places to sublet in St. Paul in the spring - I know a LOT of people at Mac go abroad then, and there are usually a lot of empty spots in houses/apartments. But if you're worried about commuting, it really might be a better idea to stay in the cities during the week and do Mankato on the weekends, instead of commuting every day. Even if it sucks.

If that means you'd need a different apartment in Mankato in the fall though....that doesn't mean you/Seth couldn't still spend time with each other and sleep over and stuff. Sure, it's not ideal, but if you guys are really meant to be or whatever, you'll work through it. ...And probably save an assload of money in the process (if that's a concern).

I already have an apartment leased out for the fall. That's the thing. I can't sublease my half of the bedroom. Somehow I think Seth would frown upon that. I talked to some people at work who have commuted and they say 169 and main roads in St. Paul are usually well plowed. Meh.

Oh. Right. I forgot most people are set with their living plans for next year. Sorry.

Hehe. I forgot that you probably don't have living plans for next year. I suppose that would be difficult to do overseas. I think I have everything figured out though for next year...providing I get my internship! I am moving into my new apartment in August. When you come back to the states you should visit! You know, because the time you would have in Mankato will obviously equal the excitement of the time you would have traveling Europe.
