and realized this cannot be your life? I am so unsatisfied with the way things are. I make shit at my job and it's not challenging for me. I'm not fulfilling my potential and it frustrates me so much because there is nothing I can do about it. No one is hiring. You have to know someone to get a job these days. And no one I know, knows about any ( Read more... )

Yeah I feel you. I'm living in Santa Rosa paying 400 dollars a month for rent. I make like 600 a month. I barely cover that and my bills. I wish my mom lived here and I could live with her for freeish and go to college. Mendocino college is just bleh. You have to drive everywhere.

I agree that you should smoke more and drink less. <3

I just don't know if I should give up and move back in with my mom and take some classes at the JC there or what. I like SRJC more though. And riding my bike.

I feel you dude; jobs are scarce as heck right now and I'm freaking out cause I'm graduating in less than two months and have pretty much no leads because like you said, NOONE is hiring and even a degree from a well-known school isn't helping much. I'm thinking of just finding some part-time work for now and then applying to grad school; basically just battening down the hatches to wait out the economy slump...

Yeah and you shouldn't feel bad about working part-time at all because that is really all there is right now! A lot of my friends from school who have way more job experience than me can't find jobs and are planning to take a year off and live with their parents and then go to grad school, and these are my overachiever Asian friends from Berkeley O__o So work life may be bleak but it's bleak for everyone so you should focus on your friendships and the stuff that you enjoy in life and just hope for the best; I'm sure we'll find jobs once the economy starts getting better. =) I love you too dear <3

Not your field of work but few things you could look into. awesomecat March 29 2009, 02:43:58 UTC
If its something that might possibly interest you, rest homes and other care homes are almost always hiring even if just for housekeeping needs. And almost all of them will pay over minimum wage ( ... )
