I've always envied friends for having the opportunity to travel for work and see the world. Well my chance finally came - my first ever business trip. I had mixed feelings of fears of what to expect, bring/ wear and excitement of setting foot in a place I've never been before.

This is a true incident in Singapore.

A woman who was taking her driving test ended up with the car overturned.

Her first words after she and the examiner climbed out of the car:

“Please don’t fail me!”

My eyes are slowly opening to the exacting nature of women. At best, I see it as acute attentiveness to every unimaginable detail. She gives reliable psychic advice that the birthday boy will not like this seemingly perfect gift. At worst, she can be excruciatingly exact to the point of squeezing blood from a stone.

It was meant to be a family gathering, a compensation of sorts for belated mother’s day dinner. He finally secured a date and schedule with his brother and mom and planned a real nice dinner; somewhere farther, some place more expensive than the conventional coffeeshop fare.

Few nights ago, I was sprawled over the floor in deep concentration and performing strenuous mental gymnastics (I was studying la) when blackness engulfed me. Either I blacked out or there was a black out. Suffice to say I could study no longer and morphed into a handy-man.
