Grocerying...

I think my favorite way to grocery shop/plan meals is to buy a lot of stuff one week (chicken breasts on sale, frozen food that I don't quite have a plan for, etc.). The next week, I can use some of the stuff I bought previously (including boxed side dishes...pastaroni!) and only have to buy a handful of additional things to eat for another week ( Read more... )

Eevery few week Giant Eagle has by one get one free on their chicken breasts (fresh, not frozen), so that's when I stock up my freezer.

With frozen chicken breasts, I would just throw them in the fridge the day before so they're thawed. It's a little more work than just going from fresh, but I think it's easier than buying fresh.

Mmmm, crock pot. I like that you use that as a verb.

I always check the Kroger ads but their sales, but I haven't seen any (granted I haven't seen that many recent kroger ads because we either don't get them or no one who uses the front door brings them in with the mail).

Yeah I've thought about thawing them, but that takes a lot of planning to start thawing so that they're thawed in the morning.

Crock potting is excellent! I've been doing mostly baking this quarter. I also need non-frozen chicken to stir fry easily. Oh, and I need broccoli, but I haven't been able to get to Sams. I know, my life is just one big sob story.

I check ads online, because I don't get any ads.

Mmmm, stir fry.

I don't have a crock pot (and it would be silly to have one for just me). However, I have an electric skillet and it's my best friend (especially since I don't have a convenient stove).
