I do *not* know what's up with (what I assume to be) the actual commission.

Me too. Unfortunately, she sent me about two pages worth of fanfic description, which caused ME to cry tears of blood. Ug. On the other hand, I've gotten about 3 hours of fun making fun of it, so I guess it's pretty even.
