The thing that makes me really sad here. . . do you know how difficult it is to get in a school counseling program? I applied for the one at Brockport and was denied, despite my high GPA and strong education background, because I didn't know enough about counseling BEFORE entering the program. They had this random test and gave us no information about what was going to be on it or how we could study for it.

In so many ways, our system is a failure.

That completely sucks!!! I would be sooo beyond frustrated, you're such a good teacher though to actually care enough to follow up and try. So many people, like obviously everyone else wouldn't put as much effort in as someone like you. It sounds like a system/society failure, keep pushing what you can and don't give up! I hate when people are dumb! Good luck on the subs too! I'd totally offer to come and sub your class, but they're keeping me pretty busy down here....

seriously, I don't understand the whole school counselor system. like...wtf...and then there is stuff like my hs counselor who literally did squat for me in hs, but she still gets her picture in the district newsletter with me when I do thinks like win awards and whatever. um, my mom/teachers/SELF had way more to do with any success in my life that that woman...
