i need to make a glaze for a galette. recipe calls for apple jelly; i have apple butter. can i use it instead, or will it be terribly wrong?

it won't be clear, and it will probably not harden like a jelly-based glaze would (but might, depending if you get the sugar content right). it'll still be yummy :)

(usually the point of the glaze is to make it shiny)

i think a different jellymight be better than the apple butter, but i might well be too late to be useful here....
