This gets my blood boiling! Prop 8 I mean, not your post :)

I hate the commericals with the kid saying she can marry another girl. That will not be taught. And what makes this worse is that California is seen as sort of a forerunner for gay marriage, and if we make it a constitutional amendment that it's illegal, that will set a standard for the rest of the nation.

It will also be the first time that a constitutional amendment, state or federal, has been mad that takes away the rights of a group.

Scary times in our state, eh?

Do you happen to have a source for this? I'm working on an anti-prop-8 speech, and this certainly seems worth mentioning.

I was a little shocked seeing the icon the first time, but got the reference pretty quickly.

Last election, my brother had a "George W Bush '04 - Eat The Poor" bumper sticker that got similar criticism.

I totally didn't get it- hence my comment to you in my journal the other day ;-)

I'm fairly certain that I've heard the "separate but equal" argument in regards to gay marriage recently.

It's not. I'm sarcastically using a phrase from racial segregation to make a point about inequality for gays. Denying gays the right to marry is a denial of civil rights.
