If you only had it re-pierced two weeks ago, yeah it should still hurt. Cartilage does take a while to heal. Was it pierced again in the same place it was done the first time you had it? If that's the case then the piercing probably went through scar tissue as well which might add to the pain you're feeling. Just remember to keep it clean and try doing some sea salt soaks. They help alot. Sea salt soaks have almost fully healed my poor sore rejecting surface bars!! *yipee* Oh and watch when you answer the phone. That was always my issue.. I'd answer the phone and hit it. You can always talk to your piercer :o)
yah...i'm pretty sure its in a different spot...but the same general area...my problem is getting dressed and brushing my hair...thanks for reassuring me that it should still hurt...i've been seriously considering removing it to stop the pain/to be able to sleep on my natural side. p.s. how do i soak my ear? isnt that like...a weird angle or something?
hah.. yeah soaking it is a bit awkward but if you will a small cup (shot glass or dixie cup) with hot water and salt water, tip your head to the side (so earing down) and let it sit in the cup for about 5 min. It'll make your neck a bit soar.. Or try grabbing a face cloth and soak it in salt water for a bit and hold it against your ear. I've been experimenting with different ways to soak my chest bars, which are just under my collar bones.. it's interesting that's for sure. good luck! Give it a try and let me know how it goes! But don't take out the ring!! it looks cute! Plus i'm sure you got it for a reason and you obviously like it. GIVE IT A CHANCE! :O) -Candice
yea, that'll hurt for awhile.. couldn't have said it any better than contrived did up there, but i'll tell ya this: avoid hitting it - i found when i hit mine, it was like taking three steps back. it hurt really bad afterwards for a couple days.
