At long last, it's time to answer
bluechromis's thoughtful post with my own list... it took me a long time to write them.
10 THINGS I WISH I'D LEARNED BY NOW
1) Life is not going to become smooth, easy and graceful after I accomplish the things currently on my to-do list.
2) People actually, truly do want different things, once you get beyond the basics. Seriously. Some people desperately want things that I actively don't want. Some people don't care at all about things I would passionately pursue for years.
3) My worth is not comparative or conditional. (Cough, I stole this one directly.)
4) Progress isn't linear.
5) Hair always grows back out.
6) Moods can change very quickly in response to very small things. Mine in particular changes according to the number of good/bad things that happen, not the importance.
7) The rules, as written, are hardly ever followed.
8) There will always eventually be another book, or new music, or a new game, that excites me.
9) Sometimes I don't know what will work until I actually try things out.
10) I should curl up my torso when attempting press handstands, and all exercises even vaguely related to press handstands.
