Yeah, I mean... when I first discovered fandom after S3 and I kept seeing the title of this Effy/Emily fic pop up I was like EW NO WTF IS THAT?! Having come from gushing over Naomily and just looking for fics about them I didn't understand how someone could do that.

And then I read some Katie/Effy by the same author and I was like... this is really good, actually. I wonder if I'm missing out? And then I read it and I was like ohhhhhh and it was brilliant. So now, now I take a gamble and try stuff out. It's the beauty of fanfic. It's flexible. And you only have to believe in the characters, I think, and as long as they're working then their actions make sense too.

Anyway, anyway. Thank you so much for your comments. I'm glad it works for you, and I'm really glad that I posted it :)

Oh yeah, I mean... I don't think Emily actually shagged any girls in that time. Or any boys for that matter! But, if she were to, I hope it would be something like this.

It's totally about Naomi, yeah man. EVERYTHING is about Naomi, for Emily. And Emily is so gay she couldn't really get into it and be all OMG COCK like a straight girl would. So this, for me, is how something like this would happen between Emily and Cook.

LOL, yeah... I think thinking about this will be a healthy distraction from the rest of what's going on in 406,7 and 8!!

I wasn't going to read this because I've found that I don't like when Emily is paired up with other character (Effy/Emily make me want to throw up) but I saw how many comments you had and I scrolled down to read them and caught the last bits..then I scrolled up a bit more...then a bit more. I pretty much read half the story backwards before I just scrolled to the top and read it proper lol

Now I'm off to bed to think about a fandom where Naomi finds out about this and punches Cook in the face :)

Emily/Cook? UNF. I still think that the club scene in 3.07 is one of the hottest scenes ever on Skins.

I really love the dynamic between them here. The characterization was spot on and the situation actually seemed really believable. They're both hurting and in need of some comfort and are both just there for each other ♥

Rubbish comment is rubbish, but yeah, you really made this work :)

Ok, I'm glad you made the explicit caveat that this wouldn't happen because it makes it all much easier to handle. I think canon Emily wasn't capable of fucking someone else, but IF she was (and, perhaps, if her Naomi carried on the way they were in canon, something like this would have transpired) then I agree that it would be something like this.

What I like about this is how it's simultaneously surreal yet definitely in canon. Lines like this...

She doesn't know where Naomi is, probably at the library. Probably having a bit of a panic over the pressure of exams and then fucking some random, unsuspecting lesbian in the aisles. She's probably all, Oh, Naomi, this won't mean anything, I promise. It's all nothing, you won't owe me anything. I won't trap you here. And Naomi's probably biting her lip and pretending not to want it. THIS. I wish the show hadn't given Kat and Lily scraps to work off and instead focussed on why Emily would ( ... )
