That talking actually helps?

Had counselling today and she asked how I was doing. As much as I write stuff down, or type it out or whatever, because that is easiest for me, I actually felt a lot better this week after saying heaps of the stuff about my mum out loud. That is interesting - apart from my counsellor I've never tried talking about difficult stuff out loud (while sober). Any idea why the effect is so different?

I think finding someone who reacts to being hit by saying "NO" and whacking you on the nose with a rolled up magazine might be what you really need? Naughty puppy. No hitting.

I will email you about your homework. :) I had to do this last year, too. Soooo hard. It's definitely a helpful exercise. The harder something is, the more important it probably is to do it.

It doesnt work as well with people I know - or maybe Im not as honest or unguarded maybe... Unless Im drunk and that doesnt solve anything. I just kept talking today - it was weird. I like her and it is definitely helping.
I hate talking about stuff - and usually it makes me cry, which I feel embarrassed about. So maybe that helps too - because I can cry without feeling like a dick?

Yeah pretty much - puppy training 101 :)

Thanks :)
