Oblivion and the lag that it brings

Dave says that on a scale of 1-10, he rates Oblivion at "cheese". I think this is a fair rating. As I also have purchased the game, I have rated it at a comfortable level of Gyuyere, as opposed to cheddar or mozarella. I find it to be a superior cheese, and thus a good representation of Oblivion. However wonderful the game is, it is a little sad ( Read more... )

You can buy sticks of ram pretty cheap on ebay and stuff. I've played some pretty high tech games on my laptop just fine with it.

I'm going to be hitting up 2 gigs for whenever I get a laptop, and it won't run me more than 200 on eBay. That's DAMN sweet.

Really? I was looking on ebay, I was impressed, but then I wasn't really taking in what I saw... so that's somewhere in the neighbourhood of 50 bucks for a 512 then? That's hot... This laptop does all right, don't get me wrong, but one can never get enough RAM. 2 gigs... wow... that makes me wet in places that computers shouldn't affect. Mmmm... I will have to purchase some RAM soon. My laptop is expandable up to 2 gigs... so maybe that's exactly how much I'll get.. delicious!

It depends what type of processor you have and what you do with the laptop that'll say whether or not you really need 2 gigs. I plan on getting a dual core, which is why I want more. With a single core, and providing you aren't trying to run Photoshop on the world's biggest pictures, 1 gig should do just fine.

Morrowind is the source of all evil in the world. I played it for weeks on end, eating up days - nay, tens of days - of my time obsessively completing every side quest and progressing only about halfway through the actual storyline before realizing that it was destroying my life and erasing it from my hard drive FOREVER - banishing it, if you will, to the depths of the recycling bin from whence it SURELY came. It was a game that was, if possible, TOO good. The mere thought of Oblivion shakes me to my VERY CORE.
