I'd like to see freakin' Amazon stop the pre-release reviews so much. There is absolutely no reason to rank or review something if you don't have said product in your hands at that moment. And have watched/read/(insert appropriate past tense verb here) it.

After reading your comments, I have to say that you have crushed any plan I had of watching The Vampire Diaries. :< But that's mostly because the previews made it look to me like it was going to be a Mr. & Mrs. Smith-type deal, where the love interests are both vamps, but don't know the other one is. If you were thinking of reading the series you should definately give the first four books a try. For YA books they're pretty good. And even her other series, like Secret Circle, Dark World and especially The Forbidden Game series are good. The writing isn't as good as Robin Mckinley, Christopher Pike, Garth Nix or Deb Calletti (her work is regular YA fiction but her writing style is so damn good!)but the Vampire Diaries and the Forbidden Game series are well worth reading ( ... )

I haven't seen Dollhouse since episode three or four, and because Fox only streams the last four episodes, I'll wait for DVD rentals to catch up.

I think I might have gotten away from my thoughts on creator/fandom interaction, which I believe benefits from the creator being nice to fans, but not catering to them. You are never going to please all your fans. For example, I think Darin Morgan is a god for the episodes he wrote for The X-Files, but you would have to pay me lots and lots of money to watch Fringe. I just have no desire to see it.

Sixth season of Buffy is my most hated season (and also the reason I can't whole-heartedly love Firefly) because Joss handed the reigns over to someone who made the show almost unwatchable. It's kinda funny/sad how many more DVD extras there are on the final two seasons in order to entice fans to buy. I'm not sure my example of Joss and S7 Buffy is all that good, so here's a better one: it was a completely awful idea to use the "magic = crack" ( ... )
