Here's a money tip from my parents: "Ultimately, the only think you can do with money is spend it." Even if you save it, you're saving to spend eventually. You should spend wisely but for God's sake, just go to the damn movie or down the shore. It's better than sitting on the floor in the dark thinking about the happy, free sunset you saw. You can live a little.

I'm not going to Rehoboth for Labor Day weekend. Not only am I saving myself a weekend full of anxiety attacks, but I'm also saving on hotel expenses, cigarettes (since I smoke a lot less when I'm not at Rehomo), entry to clubs filled with Euro Trash Homos and poor quality drinks served in dixie cups.

You couldnt keep me away from the shore in the summertime if I were bankrupt. it's the one thing I look forward to all year. When I'm at my job in the dead of winter, looking out the window at the ice, snow and lifeless tree branches, I remind myself the reason I'm there is to afford to be able to NOT be there for one blessed week in July and two weekends at the start and end of the summer. Why else do we work? to afford the things we want.... a house, a car, and FUCKING VACATIONS. If I didnt need these things, I'd give it all up, move to Florida and be a bartender on a cruise ship.
