Universal Healthcare for Dummies

Aug 11, 2009 15:54

Can someone please tell me what the benefits are of a universal healthcare system?  I'm being honest.  I need Universal Healthcare for Dummies - completely unbiased information.  No party propaganda.

I need a list of "how it will affect me".   Please?

From what I can tell, it means:

Next time I end up in the ER on a Monday night when it's a thousand degrees, I'll still have to wait about 6 hours for the results of a test that is supposed to take 10 minutes. BUT I won't get called up to the window to discuss my health insurance a bunch of times while I'm waiting to see a doctor.

yeah but I don't want to have to pay for some random person who doesn't take care of him/herself's insurance. and the money to cover this government healthcare has to come from somewhere.

It just seems to me that my service will be be shitty while I pay for deadbeats who are collecting food stamps while talking on their iPhones.

I actually heard about a "Healthcare for Dummies" article somewhere. If I remember where, I'll let you know. I need that too because this is all hard to grasp.
