RL sucks big time doesn't it? I sometimes think it will take some kind of major accident that puts me in a hospital bed for months that will be the only way I get the time to catch up with all my fandom interests properly.
It's a shame how fandom has to take a back seat to more important things happening in RL, but it can't be helped. That's why it's called Real Life I suppose. ((((((hugs)))))
Thanks for understanding! When I went on hiatus all those years ago, it was because I believed that fandom had taken over my life, and that I wasn't letting myself have an RL because of it. I'm glad to say that I certainly fixed that problem, but I sometimes miss fandom, and I always miss all the lovely people within it.
Yes, years ago I spent time on a fandom postboard centered around JM's band GoTR. There was a delightful lady who did all our site's coding, we all loved her dearly, she was amazing and spent hours and hours getting everything working perfectly for us. Then one day she told us her husband of many years had decided to end their marriage. I always feel that all those hours tapping away on her computor while he sat neglected had to have at least contributed, and I'm very careful to try mot to make my hubby feel that way. We all have to have a life apart from the computor.
I caught up with this story after years of not reading it, and I remember all the feelings and attachment I had to it, and it's nice to know that you're still aware of it somehow and it's strange to see this update, I'll admit, but what can you do? Life is life, regardless. If noting else, you created a wonderful story that I, guess, can just be left to every individual reader's imagination. Thank you for this update.
I've gotten connected to so many abandoned WIPs so I know exactly how you feel, and I feel awful about being the cause of it. The very first S/X story I read was a WIP that has not been updated to this day. I even re-read it recently because it was that powerful to me.
I hope someday I can finish this story and get rid of one of the many orphaned WIPs floating out there in the vast. Thanks for your understanding.
So lovely to hear from you. I hope everything has been well with you. I know that "RL catching up" can often mean lots of stress and bad news, and I so hope that's not the case with you.
Good to know you're still on board this stalled ship. Perhaps some day we can get some closure on this thing.

Real life caught up with both of us, and not a lot can be done. If you finish the writing, I'll finish the betaing, but we've both moved on.
We remember it, very fondly, no matter what happens. *more hugs*
