I find it very amusing that McCain chose a woman as his running mate in what seems like a desperate grasp at the female vote. If he's trying to win over disappointed Hillary supporters...he will be grossly let down. If he truly believes that she is the best choice...which I question with so many other women that he could choose who have more ( Read more... )

I went to the McCain website just to see how pathetic it was and the section on women was basically just a bunch of vague references to John McCain protectingfamilies and a video of Cindy (I'm a woman too and we are all the same!) urging women to vote for him. Clearly, he has nothing to offer women who *gasp* aren't [Christian and pro-life] mothers.

I think, sadly, Palin was a token choice because of her youth and gender.

I was just reading this blog post at Shakesville on the Palin pick. I thought the analysis was pretty interesting, much deeper than what I initially thought; that post made me see the Rep VP pick from a different angle.

I'm also pretty sure that his decision for choosing her has a lot to do with drilling for oil in Alaska. She seems to be a supporter of that.
