I have been a lot more depressed lately than I have been in like 2 or 3 years. I usually get the winter blues, cuz I'm more prone to being emotional anyway, but I haven't been this bad in a while. Lately, I seriously feel like crying just about every day. Honestly, I have been, almost every day. It's awful. I feel terrible because Bobby and I ( Read more... )

I am here for you...I too suffer during the winter...you are not alone! Try this: Since you like to write, spend an evening writing down all of the things that you are happy about in life...all of the things that bring a smile to your face. Doing this with a glass of wine helps! Then, tear these lines of writing into strips and put them into a jar. Each morning, take one out, read it, and spend the day each tme you feel a little blue thinking about that happy thought and examples of when that event or object made you happy.

Do this enough and it trains your brain to automatically go to happy thoughts...a little trick a therapist I once had gave me...

Make sure to replenish your jar with new memories or recycle good oldies :)

Take care
Much love
EG

I cant fault you for complaining about your job. Personal fulfilment from your job is essential to happiness, since you spend so much time at it. I really hope you get these jobs, these are difficult times and a good job is hard to find. I keep telling myself I'd work at McDonalds if nothing comes to fruition but Im not sure if I really want to do that.

Have you considered getting a SADD lamp? Vitamin D is good, but might not be enough. I could talk to Steve, since he gets a good discount at W+F

And it is hard not being able to see your boyfriend with opposite work schedules, but Bob is your husband and you are newlyweds, which makes this even more bullshit. You're in my thoughts and meditations as far as this new job goes.

Ill call you soon. Do you want to go to yoga and dharma class with me on Sunday? (If you're in the area). It makes me feel better, if only for an hour or two. (And its all FREE..well for you, I used up my yoga pass:p)

I have considered getting one, but they're a little pricy. I'll have to see about Sunday, I may just want to spend the day with him. I really hope one of these jobs comes to fruition soon.

Hey dear-
I'm sad to hear everything isn't going well.
As for the sunlight problem, vitamin D definitely helps as does hitting up a tanning booth- even for a short period of time (you can even wear sunscreen if you need to, it's just having that burst of light that helps). You can also try replacing your light bulbs. I know that has helped me too. If you don't want to spend the money on getting the complete, full-spectrum, sun replacement light bulbs(I don't... they're kinda expensive), you can buy some that are called natural light or something like that. Basically, instead of giving off a yellow light, they give off a natural looking light. Anywho, I really hope everything starts getting better for you and I hople this helps, at least a little bit!

*loves and hugs*
