hat question

I like hats that keep their shapes and can't be folded or wadded up. (That's not why I like them; it just happens to be a characteristic of the hats I'm drawn to.) My problem is storage. How do you store your hats? Do you put them in hat boxes on a shelf at the top of your closet? That seems really inconvenient, and if I did that I'd never wear

hang them on a wall or get styrofoam heads to display them on in funny places

Oh, I forgot to add that I don't have a lot of room. No wall space and no room for displays of any kind. I need some kind of convenient storage.
