It's amusing to me that during Obama's campaign, it was all about how terrible it was that we were in Iraq, but it was ok for us to be in Afghanistan. Now that attention has shifted to Afghanistan and things aren't going well, it's suddenly not a good idea.
Last I checked the democrats wanted out of the middle east entirely but all Obama could muster up was "out of Iraq and into Afghanistan." It's better than being in Iraq but it's not what they really wanted.
I disagree, they all pointed fingers at how evil Bush was for going into Iraq and not focusing enough on Afghanistan (in fact, I think even you pointed this out to me! Little libertarian wannabe, you. haha j/k). Well, Obama came through saying he'd change the focus and everyone thought he was Jesus because of it. Yet now he needs to pull out? People are just fickle, soon as something gets hard they want out.
I said democrats wanted out of the middle east, not me. I think we should have gone after bin laden much more than the "threat" that was Saddam. Though if they can't catch him after 8.5 years I doubt they're going to. We're sinking trillions of dollars there into what amounts to a complete waste of money, time and more importantly, human life. So now is time to get out.
I mean really, the man is probably dead in some cave somewhere. The guy is on dialysis! And that was back in 2001!
