What a week!
Okay, last week I started my new job. It was strange and slow to start. This week will no doubt be better, both in actual work accomplished and enjoyment. I am at least enjoying taking the train and bike to work ( Read more... ) -
Dance Dance Dance
Remember last year when I auditioned for decadance? I'm going to do it again this year! I'm also going to audition for Danse Libre, which does dances from the 1800s and early 1900s in gorgeous costume. It always looks so fun. and I have it from an inside source that they're looking for several to many women this year. -
Oh yes
I got the job. I had a last meeting/interview with the post-doc I'll be working closely with, and we clicked like Legos. Clicky clicky. He informed the PI that he'd like to start working with me as soon as possible, so Stanford HR is processing my paperwork and I start on Monday. I had a job interview today that seemed promising.

A boot to the head!
Or is it a boot to the butt? I did the crazy and signed up for a fitness boot camp. My friend who suggested it is considering bailing on it, and my other friend is a bit scared of committing to early days for a whole month. But I signed up. The knitting
The knitting proceeds. I finally finished the four-square mitered tote from Bags - a Knitter's dozen. Here are some pics from the process.
Here it is with all 8 squares sewn together for the 2 sides, and the beginning of attaching the gusset.

Oh, the rather annoying stress
This week found me at a pretty low spot. I feel overwhelmed by things I need to do. They're pretty big tasks, but I'm so dismayed and discouraged that I've been paralyzed this week. Music
It's been a good couple of weeks for music. Almost 3 weeks ago Jay and I got a babysitter and went out to see the Asylum Street Spankers in Redwood City. The Little Fox Theatre is a cozy, intimate venue. I don't think it's possible to stand even 100 feet from the stage, and most seats are within 30.
