I'm sure your local shelter will take anything you want to give them including toys, open bags of food, greenies and pill pockets.

Before you get another kitty, you want to scrub down and wash in very hot water and bleach anything you plan to give it that belonged to Chessie. If he had urinary tract infections, then you don't want to risk there being anything that the new kitty could catch. Toys he didn't play much with after he got sick will be fine, but bedding, litterboxes, bowls etc, need to be cleaned completely.

Oh, are you going to be up this way anytime soon? I have one of those over the toilet units that is in almost new condition (it's dusty, but not damaged or anything) we are not using and have no use for. But getting it to you might be a challenge since you are 500 miles away.

I don't expect to be up that way until maybe... MAYBE... August.... and I doubt I'd have room in my van for it. I'll look for one used around here. The wall above the sink & toilet is a mirror, so I can't really mount shelves.

Well FWIW, I only paid something like $50 for it on sale at Target a few years ago, so they aren't expensive to buy new.
