OK! I have officially not been affected by the gov't shutdown/slowdown. Social Security payment was in the bank this morning. So that means my medicare is paid also. Life goes on in the normal way. Sure wish this prez would just sit down and negotiate, as it is his job.

He's doing his job, which includes not negotiating with terrorists holding the country hostage.

Would you prefer "extortionists?" "Blackmailers?" President Obama invited 232 Republican congressmen to the White House to discuss ending the shutdown. Only 12 showed up. That shows you how much the Republicans are willing to "negotiate"-- perhaps you should look up that word in the dictionary.

The prez is not a dictator. Republicans sent representatives to negotiate. More would be unnecessary.
