Decided to sell some Christmas items at Christkindlmarkt here in Tulsa. Whew. Crazy dash to make a lot of little things to sell, keeping in mind the theme. Then the setup. Had it all in my mind, and it actually worked quite well. Might need a table and a half next year. Will see. I already have some things in mind to make. Just too tired right now ( Read more... )

Yesterday, Sunday the 23rd, was the Route66 Marathon. The route plan showed them running down our residential street, so all cross-traffic was blocked from turning into it. Have three tomato plants with green tomatos all over them. However, when a few started turning red, something kept chomping bits from them (about beak size). So bought some netting and spread it over the tomatos, in addition to the thornless blackberries (which are also red right now). Very unhappy birdies. Amazing how little things like coughing can mess with your life. Especially when it evolves to Acute Bronchitis. For the first time in my life I have an inhaler. Not a very strong one, but it works for me. And there's no way I'll use up all 800 puffs. I don't like putting foreign substances in my body, but sometimes it becomes necessary. We got a good amount of rain Monday with more predicted for tonight, so yesterday I decided to get back to gardening. Just on a small scale. I bought some bags of soil amendment, a couple of varieties of tomato plants and a bell pepper plant, in addition to some onion sets. One five square foot garden weeded, amended and planted. Easter Sunday saw a little bit of a sprinkle now and then, but Monday - wow. Lots of rain and no lightning. And again while I was at band rehearsal last night. Nice. I got caught by a huge sinus drainage Sunday evening (I guess after housecleaning and all the fun of having the kids over). I was very lazy this winter - but then it is hard to do things when your body is freezing, well at least very cold. So I spent a lot of time on the couch surrounded by the nice, warm dogs. Thought we were ready to start putting together a garden, but the snow and ice moved in last night. So, I'll just start with seeds and work on my patience.
