I'm really sorry. Sometimes nothing can beat the loyalty of an animal, and it's always terrible when they pass away.

But hey, it's also father's day today, so maybe instead of focusing on the loss, remember what you gave to him? You were like a father in a way, and provided care, attention, and unending love. There's no greater gift than that, and any living creature can appreciate that.

That's a cute way to look at it. :)
I really can't tell you how heartbroken I was when Phillip died. I still think about him all the time.
You need a puppy Frank. I think we all do.

Losing a pet that you have such a close connection with can be such a deep, heartfelt loss. It's that part of the cycle of life that really sucks!! But those other parts of the cycle are usually filled with such joy!!
I think I may be about ready for another dog. I'm going to have to get some parts of my life settled a teeny bit first, though!!

The mind usually has better quality pictures than any TV, so having Boomer bounding around in your head today is what's important.

So True!!
He has definitely been crystal clear in my thoughts today.
Immediately after I posted the entry, a white dog ran through my yard! I occasionally get neighbor dogs in my yard, but not often. I hit the Post Entry button and out of the corrner of my eye I saw a white flash. I turned to look out the window and saw a big white dog running across the lawn.
Not Boomer, but a fun surprise!!

Thanks. Everyone who met him was amazed at how cool he was. It was like having a person around.
