Doing well. Doing an exchange in Japan right now so I've lost touch with people in the last couple of months.

Things are going well. I've made some good friends here and am having a good time.

You're working now aren't you?

i am. I'm renting a house from my folks with Loy and I'm working for CH2M Hill as a mechanical engineer. It is so stinkin busy there right now - i am scheduled on projects for the next four years, at least. and that doesn't include the "oh, by the way..." jobs that always pop up.

things are pretty good, my only real complaint (if it could be called that) is that i can't find any eligible women.

Do you have any old VECO gear that you are willing to give me?

You know those surveys that make their way around every year around new year about how the year went? Well I've been doing them and tripping out just thinking about what an absolutely incredible year this is, then how insignificant one year might be in the spectrum of my whole life, and how small earth is in comparison to the universe, and feeling just really overwhelmed.
But stoked at the same time. I'm heading over to your side of the world for a couple months! I won't be in Japan, but I'll be in HK, Thailand, and probably Vietnam and Laos for the better part of January and February, with New Years in HK. I can't believe how long you've been over there! You must be turning Japanese by now. (Like you probably don't hear that joke enough.)

That's cool that you've had such a great year. Are you coming to Asia just to travel or do you have another purpose?

I like it here a lot. I wouldn't say that I've "turned" but I've become accustomed to the lifestyle. Really not all that different, though.

It's for traveling and visiting a couple friends who live over there. For life. How much longer do you plan to be there? It feels like forever since I've seen you.

Yo Monty, how's Hokkaido. I'm thinking of heading back to America for a while. Do you ever talk to Syd or anybody?

Hokkaido is nice. Good people, good food, relatively good weather.

I haven't talked to Syd or the people from NGU in a while. I message some of them on facebook every now and then, though.

I just took 2-Kyuu and I think I passed. You should keep at your Japanese until you pass 1-Kyuu. I'm sure that you can do it and it's well worth it.

I failed the shit out of 2kyuu. I can't read worth shit. I guess I need to focus more on reading that on speaking at this point. I'm fairly sure that I passed the listening. That was easy.

I'll probably email you with details some other time. I just wanted you to know I'm still alive.
Glad you're well.
Later.
