Things are Good
Just an update - the blood clot seems to be under control. It's responding well to meds, so I think I'm out of immediate danger, as long as I'm diligent about taking medication and continuing to elevate & apply heat to the leg. So that's good!

Health update
The symptoms in my leg are much worse today (pain, redness, swelling), so I called my doctor and he sent me back to the ER. Good thing I went, because today's ultrasound showed that things have worsened - no longer a superficial clot, but a full DVT (clot in one of my main veins), which is much more dangerous. -
Blah
Last night a visit to the ER revealed that I have a small clot in one of the superficial (surface) veins of my left leg. It's likely not serious; just really painful and not fun at all. Home!
Traveling is fun, but there's nothing better than finally coming home after being away for two weeks.
Ok, one thing. Slipping into my own, wonderful, comfortable bed after being awake for 20 hours. Utter bliss.

Last night, nestled against Josh as we drifted down the Seine on our nighttime cruise, I thought about all we had seen so far: Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle and the medieval Cluny museum and the Eiffel tower...not to mention all the various wonderful streets and sights. Oh well. Nothing a few antibiotics can't cure. Does mean that I can't go visit friends this weekend, though. I'm probably still contagious for the next 24 hours. -

Life's been crazy the past few weeks. The school year is ending in a whirlwind of activity (both mine and Josh's), so we've both been pretty busy. Smith's commencement is this weekend, actually (which I might crash...Rachel Maddow is speaking, and I'm a total fan-girl).
