[It always seems like autumn in the woodland town of Ecruteak. But when it's actually autumn, the colors are mind-blowing.[Heather might not be one of those 'let's walk quietly in nature and be alone with our thoughts' types, but she can appreciate the beauty of the world when she sees it! [But considering her somber mood, Heather's willing to put aside her snippiness for the moment.]
Yeah.
It belonged to a friend.

[No reason to hide that... and maybe Shelly knew him.]

[She doesn't look like she's falling apart or anything, but there is a sober note in her voice.]
Yeah.
A good friend.

[She can sympathize. ... Really, anyone who's spent any significant amount of time in Johto has already lost at least one person.]

That was just kinda... sudden.
[She hadn't even known he'd disappeared...]

Y'don't see the crash till it's head-on, and all that.
[She heaves a slight sigh.]

And since talking = less important than hugging, she doesn't bother un-burying her face from his chest when she replies muffledly.]
Didja miss me?
[And-- oho, what's this? Sunny wants in on the hugging action, so have a GIANT WHITE OWL waddling over and just sort of... snuggling.]
