Do I need to find the maaaaany tweets/FB/LJ comments in which you've categorically declared that you'll be holding me hostage and not letting me return home after my visit to you?! But that's beside the point. The POINT is Grace writes amazing Castle fic and it needs to happen more. BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
I like it. It's a nice portrayal of the serious side of the show. And it's something that could happen. After all, there is the one escaped serial killer, plus whatever criminal mastermind is behind Beckett's mother's death. Realistically it has to happen at some point (whether it ever actually happens on show is another question). It's definitely in character though. So yeah. Well done.
Thank you! I was a little uncomfortable exploring certain things because I am so behind on the show itself that I wouldn't necessarily know what to do, which was a roadblock I encountered when I tried writing other stories. Then this one happened, and I think it worked better. And yes! REALISTICALLY, they don't solve every crime. I get that you can't have that happen often on a crime procedural, but it would be nice to see it every so often.
That's true. I always forget that you're behind. I assume the ones they don't solve are the ones we don't see, maybe? IDK. I have no explanation. Maybe we will see them not solve another one at some point, a non serial-killer based one.
Yes, I'm tricky like that! I can work with your theory, mostly because it makes me feel better about it. (It's funny though, on TM I want there to be a multi-ep serial killer arc where we actually DO get to see them solve it!)

Thank you so much for writing this for me Grace, I absolutely love it. I always knew I'd love your taken on Kate Beckett and I do; I adore it in fact. It can be tough to walk that line between her being stoic and sometimes too obsessive or emotionally involved but you get it perfectly here.
I also looooove your take on Castle being haunted by an unsolved case. It's not over the top or unrealistic like so many fic writers would make it. (I've always had headcanon that his decision to write crime fiction goes deeper than he lets on and this echoes it perfectly.) I especially love the subtlety of "a young girl dies" and that you just leave it there. Nothing more needs to be said but of course if a case were to hit him hard, that would be it.

I actually had a few other ideas that I might play with when I get back into the show. (I still have bits and pieces of what I was working on for you sometime last year, the prompt from "You Said Something", and a few random new threads of headcanon I've developed. So.)

OMG OMG you have written the Castle fic I didn't know I was looking for! I love this - Beckett being all take charge-y, A PROCEDURAL WHERE THEY DON'T SOLVE THE CRIME (yes, please god, yes). I love the workaholic Castle at her desk, I LOVE EVERYONE IN THIS BAR.
OMG!!!!!!! I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH I WANTED THIS (OR THAT I WANTED IT AT ALL) UNTIL I JUST READ IT. BUT THIS IS SO GREAT!!!!! HAVING YOU AROUND HELPS. I WANT TO DIE THIS IS SO WONDERFUL. December is slowly becoming my favorite month of the year, what with all the awesome fic you wonderful writers have been writing. :D
