I started training for the marathon today. An easy 2 mile run this morning at an 11 minute mile pace. It feels like a LONG way to 26!

I registered for my first marathon! Im running in the Richmond Marathon on November 11, which gives me about 3 months to train for it after the bar exam - I think that will be enough time.

As extra incentive, I also registered for the Maymont Half-Marathon in Richmond on September 30.

I'm seriously considering running the Richmond Marathon. Its in November, so I think I would have pleanty of time to train for it. Has anyone run a marathon before? If so, are there any good websites out there that I could check out for training schedules, etc??

For the past week or so I've been having lots of troubles with knee pain while running. The only thought I have is that maybe I need new shoes? Does anyone have any other thoughts about what could be causing this? Even the elliptical was giving my knees trouble yesterday...

Yesterday I was sick. Boo.
So I didn't go for my run.
With only a week and a half till the half-marathon, I made up for the run today.
I was slow (but that seems reasonable).

5 miles: 54 minutes (a little bit of walking in the middle)

To make up for today's I will do some cardio on the elliptical, I hope.

Yesterday it warmed up enough to melt the ice, so I went for a run outside. 5 miles without stopping. 47 minutes. Hooray! (Ok, so I'm slow, at least it's faster than I was running with my jogging buddies)

I didn't make it to lifting yesterday, so today I will do it. Usually today is my "day off," but I'm happy with this substitution.
