Fordham is really bad with finanical aid. Lots of my friends left school because they couldn't afford it anymore, or because their finanical aid got messed up and they couldn't get it straightened out. If they don't offer you more aid, I would say go to the other school. Lots of debit when you graduate is really tough.
No one can really TELL you.... and if you are asking, maybe then you already know?
However, I would say that if you say it would be 'a dream come true' to go to fordham, happiness is pretty important, especially if you don't want to transfer eventually!
Normally, I hear Fordham is terrible with financial aid. However, I'm from long island, ny and I would probably be considered upper middle class by fafsa standards (even though i could not afford that education without aid) and Fordham was actually generous with my aid (about 1/2 is covered). However, I did not get that right from the start...my advice to you is to harass the financial aid office as much as possible until they give you more (you cant go there unless you get the aid, you have a sibling in college, etc). That's what I did and I got more...I also did this when I got accepted to villanova because they gave me like no financial aid at all, and I was awarded more. I suggest also writing a letter and sending it in as well

well seton hall is ACTUALLY in South Orange, but Yeah, it may not be NYC but if its 80,000 cheaper, theres not much choice. But at least I know fina aid suck all around, and its not just me.
hahah THANK YOU for finally clarifying this...as someone from north jersey (the meadowlands area), everyone getting hung up on this person's mention of newark was really pissing me off!
newark is a major city within a half hour of seton hall, which is indeed in south orange. the campus is in an area which borders both a lower income area, and a very affluent area.
ps, i live 10 minutes north of newark (by way of rt 21) and just bcuz you're in the area doesnt mean youre anywhere near a ghetto.
ps, obv an out of stater would there by mention newark as a mere point of reference because it is a well known city.
pps --- fordham put me in this same situation and i had to hound them.. and will do so again this year, bcuz they still have not decided on my aid packet [and i move back in tomorrow!!!]
