I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. And perhaps even more glad to hear that you have expanded your toolkit to apply to making yourself feel better; that's a really good thing.
Noises start bugging me too, sometimes. Especially when I'm already stressed out by other things. Which isn't too often these days, but it does happen. I have a big bag of earplugs that I don't hesitate to use if I'm having trouble concentrating due to outside noise or if I need to be slightly less connected to the world.
I used to have a CD with a a thunderstorm recording on it. I wonder what happened to it.
